Naika
July 9th, 2004

Naika is shy with strangers at first, but once she's comfortable she is full of fun and mischief. Our Programs Coordinator had a terrible time getting a photo of her smiling at first. Each time, Naika would frown for the camera. Then when she was shown her picture, out came her glorious smile. We had to trick her by photographing her from the side while she looked at her picture on another camera. Once we finally captured her smiling, Naika seemed to enjoy the joke. After only a few hours, she warmed up nicely and became talkative and curious.

Naika's nannies say that she is a very sweet tempered, gentle child. She doesn't like to fight or argue with the other children. She is well attached to her caregivers and it's obvious the feeling is mutual.

Naika will thrive in a variety of families. Her new parents will probably need to visit more than once to be sure that she is comfortable when it is time to go home.
